The American painter Monica Dixon has spent several years developing her work in Spain. In her contemporary figurative style, the concern with light is evident in all her work. The lights and darks become her main expressive motivation. The painter does not seek detail, but the minimum figurative references to create moods and sensations, in which we can find the intelligent use of light resources her main expressive support.

Large-format landscapes, interiors, the loneliness of the human figure and the light, especially natural light in contrast to shade, are the themes that underpin the work of Monica Dixon.
